HÀ NỘI — The US Department of Commerce said the revocation of anti-dumping (AD) order on certain frozen warmwater shrimp from Việt Nam would likely lead to a continuation or recurrence of dumping. This was the conclusion of the department’s five-year sunset review published in a notice by the International Trade Administration on January 30 on the website federalregister.gov. This would mean that certain Vietnamese shrimp exporters would continue to have anti-dumping duties imposed on them. According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Export-Import Department, shrimp account for some 50 per cent of Việt Nam’s seafood export revenue to the United States. Việt Nam Seafood Exporters and Producers has forecast that shrimp export would reach US$3.4 billion in 2017, up 9 per cent from last year.
