After months of trade war with China, US subjected its EU and Nafta partners to steel and aluminum tariffs. UNSURPRISINGLY, the European Union (EU), Canada and Mexico have lambasted the US steel and aluminum tariffs. So the outcome of the Nafta talks is far more important to Canada and Mexico than to the US. Ironically, Trump’s tariff war against its EU and Nafta partners is solidifying European, Mexican and Canadian trade ties with China. He has served at the India, China and America Institute (USA) , the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (China) and the EU Center (Singapore).
