The S&P 500 climbed by 0.6 percent, with technology and health care stocks powering much of the market’s broad rally. The index, which is a key benchmark for many 401(k) accounts, has now set 31 record highs this year. The S&P 500 won 21.31 points to 3,722.48. That pushed the Russell 2000 small-caps index up 25.32 points, or 1.3 percent, at 1,978.05, a record high.
