US Embassy pays online respects to late King

The photos, which depicted US Ambassador Glynn Davies and his staff, read “In remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, 1927-2016”. The move honoured the late monarch who passed away in October last year. On the embassy’s Facebook page, US Embassy Bangkok, a message from Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross read “On the solemn occasion of the cremation ceremony for His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, I extend to the Thai people my profound esteem”. He said he was deeply moved by the Thai people’s outpouring of love and gratitude for the late King during his recent visit to Thailand. Also on the page is a statement from US President Donald Trump saying that Secretary of Defence James Mattis will lead the US delegation as Trump’s special envoy to attend the Royal Ceremony for the late Thai King.
