Surge in bus travel to the capital

Jirasak Yaowatsakul said an additional 120,000 to 150,000 people were expected to arrive in Bangkok riding the company’s buses on Wednesday. Those figures do not include travel by buses operated by private firms. Jirasak said the state firm had also put officials on standby at all bus stations to take care of passengers. He added that the state firm was also providing free shuttle buses from bus terminals in Bangkok to the nearest Skytrain stations. Jirasak said private firms were also providing an additional 300 free buses from provinces such as Kanchanaburi and Nakhon Sawan to Bangkok on Wednesday and Thursday.
