THE mayor of a town in La Union and two others were ambushed and killed late Monday, police said. The fatalities were identified as Mayor Alexander Buquing of Supiden; Boni Depdepen, his driver; and PO2 Rolando Juanbe, his security escort. The mayor’s wife and Vice Mayor Joy Buquing was wounded in the incident that happened along the Bangar-Castro Road. Juanbe and Depdepen died at the Ilocos Sur District Hospital and Lorma Medical Center, respectively. The vice mayor survived the incident and is at the Lorma Medical Center.
