The UNDP has warned that between 25 and 30 million Latin Americans who escaped poverty in the last decade could fall back again in light of stagnating or backwards growth in the region, a phenomenon that also includes Argentina. That figure amounts to about 36 percent of the population who could face difficulties in the case of events like sudden illness or natural disasters.
