The pair, both third-year students of the university displayed their project at the 4th Innovation and Career Fair held at the University on Friday. They subsequently won the ultimate prize for their “invention”. Speaking to Citi News, Mercy Adonu Oquaye explained that “this device with an inbuilt sensor is connected to the ignition circuit of the car. “This way, we could reduce alcohol-related road accidents to prevent some of the carnage we see on our roads”. The students, who were excited after winning the ultimate prize told Citi News that “we are presently working on improving the system.
