UKM unveils novel app designed to measure risk of stroke

KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) launched its innovative Stroke Riskometer mobile app in conjunction with World Stroke Day 2016 today. The app, which operates in Bahasa Malaysia and English, was unveiled by Health Ministry Medical Development Director Datuk Dr Azman Abu Bakar. Azman told the media that the app is designed to help tech-savvy Malaysians enhance their knowledge on symptoms, causes and effects of stroke. Azman pointed out that one out of six people will experience a stroke in their lifetime. "This app will definitely help people monitor their risks of having a stroke, and at the same time, help them take preventive measures to avoid it,” he added.
