Millions of British holidaymakers who are hoping to jet abroad this year are waiting to find out which countries will be added or removed from the green list. He expects additions to the green list to include the Greek islands of Zante, Rhodes and Kos, the Caribbean islands of Grenada and Antigua, plus Malta and Finland. Portugal is the only viable major tourist destination currently on the green list, but there have been reports it could be downgraded to amber. It claimed there were fears Portugal could lose its status on the green travel list as the new variant may have been detected there - something which has not been confirmed by Portugal's government. The Alpha variant is the Kent variant, or the UK variant as it is known abroad.
