Some 44 deaths were recorded in England, there were three Covid-19 linked deaths in Scotland, six in Wales and two in Northern Ireland. The figure is a rise on last Thursday's total of 33 deaths in hospitals, as the latest test and trace data shows positive cases continue to rise across Britain. In England, the patients were aged between 60 and 99 years old and all had known underlying health conditions. Five other deaths were reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
