By Xavier FontdegloriaWholesale inventories in the U.S. increased robustly in March compared with the previous month, suggesting that firms continued to restock amid strong demand for goods and increasing signs of renewed supply-chain bottlenecks. Inventories of U.S. merchant wholesalers rose 2.3% in March compared with the previous month, below the 2.8% increase registered in February, according to data from the Commerce Department released Monday. March's increase matches the consensus forecast from economists polled by The Wall Street Journal. The ratio of inventories to sales was 1.22 in March, unchanged from February and slightly below the 1.23 registered the same month a year earlier, the data showed.
