AstraZeneca's CEO says the drugmaker will likely to run an additional global trial to assess the efficacy of its coronavirus vaccine using the lower dosage. But Pauline Londeix, co-founder of French drug transparency group OT-Med, said apparent confusion over the trial results was "very problematic for public confidence in vaccines." Dr. Howard Njoo, Canada's deputy chief public health officer, said Wednesday that the vaccine trial questions reinforces the need for regulators to do their due diligence in reviewing vaccine candidates. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has not commented on the trial results. The European Medicines Agency said on Thursday it would "assess data on the efficacy and safety of the vaccine in the coming weeks."
