Typhoon halts railway operations – The Manila Times

Mass transit in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other parts of Luzon was either suspended or disrupted on Thursday as Typhoon “Ulysses” (international name: “Vamco”) battered the island. The Department of Transportation suspended operations of Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2, Metro Rail Transit Line 3, and Philippine National Railways. It said in an advisory it would “advise [the] resumption of railway operations once all systems checks are done and cleared.”Operations of the EDSA busway consortium were also stopped. Those of other buses were disrupted on account of flooding in some routes, according to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. As of 1:40 p.m., NLEX Corp. said, all interchanges at NLEx-SCTEx returned to normal operations except the Philippine Arena Northbound Entry and Exit, Tambubong Northbound Exit and Tambubong Southbound Entry.
