Two women injured in shooting near Rolleston, west of ChristchurchJOSEPH JOHNSON/FAIRFAX NZ An Armed Offenders Squad member marshals members of the public on Maddisons Road near Wild Road in Rolleston. Two women have been taken to hospital with gunshot wounds and police are hunting for the offender after a shooting near Rolleston. Police cordoned off an area and the Armed Offenders Squad was sent to Newtons Rd near the Canterbury town, west of Christchurch, following reports of gunfire. A local driving in the area said she was stopped and searched by police driving down Newtons Rd near the intersection with Weedons Ross Rd. The Armed Offenders Squad was also responding to a man with a gun at a hotel in Ashburton.
