Mainland authorities are handing over to Hong Kong police two young suspects, who were among the 12 intercepted by the coast guard and detained in Shenzhen following a failed attempt to escape to Taiwan on August 23. Shenzhen's Yantian People's Procuratorate said that the underage accused have admitted the charges and will not be prosecuted. The Hong Kong police announced that the media will be briefed today at 11:45am in Tin Shui Wai Police Station. Ten of the suspects were charged in Shenzhen and their verdicts are also due today from Yantian People's Court.
