Those killed have been identified as Bidyut Bachharh and Sheikh Talha. They have several criminal cases pending against them, they said. OC Rahman said that police was informed by a source that a gang of 'Bidyut Bahini' had gathered in Laxman Das' mango orchard. ASI Safiuzzaman and Constable Najmul sustained injuries and were given first aid after the encounter, OC Rahman said. He said 14 criminal cases involving illegal possession of weapons and robbery had been lodged against Bidyut Bachar and one case of sabotage had been filed against Sheikh Talha.
