Ex-Riruta ward rep Samwel Ndung’u was charged at the Kiambu High Court with the murder of his wife, Ms Lucy Njambi, who was raped and her body doused in acid by her attackers last month. A Good Samaritan, who found her crawling on the road, rushed her to the Kiambu Level Five Hospital. She was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital where she succumbed to the injuries on January 26. The head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Kiambu, Paul Wambugu, who is the chief investigating officer, told Justice Joel Ngugi that a suspect, a lady, was arrested Monday morning.
