Two people in Bangladesh have been killed by gunfire from across the border in Myanmar amid the ongoing conflict between the forces of the military junta and insurgent groups. One of the dead was identified as 55-year-old Hosne Ara a resident of the Ghumdhum area. Hosne Ara was struck and killed by a bullet shot from across the border in Myanmar on Monday afternoon, said Anowarul Islam, a representative of Ghumdum Union’s Ward No. “There has been repeated gunfire, sometimes intermittent and sometimes constant, in the Ghumdhum area since dawn,” Islam said. “A fire was spotted at the Dhekibonia BGP camp on the other side of the border in Myanmar from the Ghumdhum area around 3 pm.
