Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake ordered Former Director-General Jagath Premalal Wijeweera and retired additional customs Director-General Tharaka Senaviratne to be released on a cash bail of Rs 25,000 and two surety bails each worth Rs 5 million. They had been arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division for unlawfully releasing confiscated gold for the construction of a statue in the Sandahiru Maha Seya – an enshrinement built-in memory of war heroes.
