(file photo)Two people are dead and one injured after a two-car crash near the South Canterbury town of Tekapo on Monday evening. State Highway 8 near Lake Pukaki is closed, and drivers are recommended to postpone their journeys between Hayman Road and Tekapo Canal Road. A Christchurch Transport Operations Centre spokesman said SH8 was closed near Hayman Rd due to a serious crash. The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
