SUPPLIED The diversion in place because of the fatal crash at the intersection of Ealing Road and State Highway 1 between Timaru and Ashburton. Police say State Highway 1 is closed at the intersection of Ealing Rd, just north of the Rangitata Bridge. The Serious Crash Unit will be attending and diversions are in place at Delmaine Rd, Hinds to the north of the crash scene and at State Highway 79 to the south. The crash scene is just north of the scene of another serious SH1 crash on Friday that injured four people.
