Auckland flanker Dalton Papalii is the bolter in the All Blacks' northern tour squad, while Matt Todd has been granted an exemption to play while contracted in Japan. Having just celebrated his 21st birthday last Thursday, Papalii was the one uncapped player named on Monday in the squad of 32 for New Zealand's remaining five tests of the year. An additional squad of 19 players for consideration for the Japan test in Tokyo was also named. These 19 players will all travel to Japan and includes some top Mitre 10 Cup talent and veteran NZ rugby stars.
