Two dead after blackspot crashMIKE BAIN/FAIRFAX NZ Police were called to the crash at the intersection of State Highways 1 and 29 - otherwise known as the Tauranga turnoff at Piarere - at 9.50am on Friday. Two people from the same vehicle have died in a two-car crash at a high risk intersection near Karapiro, in Waikato. Initial reports were that one vehicle was pulling out of SH29 when it was struck by a vehicle travelling on SH1, Membrey said. That would be confirmed by Serious Crash Unit which was onsite to investigate, he said. Road users travelling south from Cambridge could use Karapiro Road, State Highway 29 and State Highway 27.
