The Kiwi golfer shot a four-under par 68 to be in a share of eighth spot, three shots off the lead. Fox only had his place in the tournament confirmed the night before the first round when another player withdrew. Tiger Woods has had an opening round to forget, shooting a five over par 77, to be tied for 121st, only two shots better than the last placed golfer.
