All five of my shops, in the kitchen market, were completely burned down, another shop that I own with my brother, in the supermarket, was also gutted by the fire. Saturday's fire, at the DNCC market in Gulshan 1, has thrown two brothers into poverty within just a few hours. The brothers, Jahirul Islam and Abdus Salam, owned nine shops in the market, and all of them were burnt to ashes. Their shops in the DNCC market, stored disposable plastic products, crockery items, carpets, ceramics, and more. This is the second time they have become victims of a fire erupting in the DNCC market, with the previous instance in January 2017.
