Two Top U.S. Economists Win Nobel for Work on Growth and Climate


The Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences was awarded Monday to Americans William D. Nordhaus and Paul M. Romer, two of the top economists of their generation, for work on climate change and innovation. The pair of economics professors, Dr. Nordhaus of Yale University and Dr. Romer of New York University, have “significantly broadened the scope of economic analysis by constructing models that explain how the market economy interacts with nature and knowledge,” the Swedish Academy said in granting them the prize.
