Two Tanzanian nationals are being held by police for questioning in connection with the trafficking of 51 Ethiopian migrants, police said on Tuesday. “The duo was arrested while they were ferrying the Ethiopian illegal migrants in a truck,” Lyanga told a press conference in the capital Dodoma. He said the truck ferrying the Ethiopian migrants was intercepted at a roadblock along the Kondoa-Arusha highway, adding that the truck was heading to Iringa region from Kilimanjaro region. Lyanga said police are also investigating to establish a syndicate that is behind human trafficking.
