Turkey coup: Erdogan hates tech but uses FaceTime, Twitter for statements : News, News


Incidentally, Erdogan is no fan of technologies like Facetime and his government has often attempted to sensor the access to technologies like Twitter and the Youtube in the country. With the country in middle of coup and with his plane refused landing at a Turkish airport, president Recep Tayyip Erdogan used Apple FaceTime and Twitter to reach out to the media as well as Turkish nationals. Some even mocked that Erdogan was doing the FaceTime in the portrait mode. The service allows a user to communicate using the video camera in the device. Usually, the landscape mode is better as it captures more area and aspect ratio of the video is more suitable to big screens.
