On Tuesday, the controversial Tuia 250 flotilla arrived in Gisborne, its first call. As for Tuia 250: "It's entirely proper that we commemorate this remarkable thing that happened. To lawyer and Te Tiriti specialist Moana Jackson, the whole concept of Tuia 250 makes little sense. But if they're going to celebrate the dual heritage of navigation across the Pacific, then it wouldn't be Tuia 250, it would be Tuia 2000 or something."
