Chase Harler added 14 points for West Virginia (18-4, 6-3 Big 12) while Derek Culver and Emmitt Matthews Jr. scored 12 and Jermaine Haley contributed 11 points. West Virginia outshot Iowa State 50 percent to 39.7 percent from the floor, with much of the damage done in the first half. Rasir Bolton led Iowa State (9-13, 2-7) with 18 points. Iowa State fell to 0-7 on the road. Matthews led the way with 12 points over the first 20 minutes, with Tshiebwe adding 10 on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor.
