(File photo)A proposed mountain bike park at Waikaia in Northern Southland has received more funding, so a master plan for 50km of trails can be advanced. The Waikaia Trails Trust was granted $20,000 by the Ardlussa Community Board to cover the cost of master planning, associated contingencies and administration costs, at a board meeting at Riversdale on Tuesday. Southland District councillor Rob Scott said agreed to funding, given the amount of work the trust had done so far. Developing the master plan would also allow the trust to apply to funders such as the Lotteries Board and the Community Trust for funding, she said.
