PETALING JAYA: The recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by US President Donald Trump is irresponsible, political parties and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) said. On Wednesday, US president Donald Trump upended seven decades of US policy by recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Earlier Thursday, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that Malaysia rejects and will never accept the proposal to make Jerusalem the capital of Israel. The Prime Minister and Umno president said he was confident and believed that the Muslim ummah will never be able to accept the shocking proposal by the United States. "There will not only be protests but my worry is that extremist groups will take unpredictable action," added Dr Ahmad Zahid, who is also the deputy prime minister and the home minister.
