Republican Donald Trump announced Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate on Friday, putting a seasoned conservative politician at his side who could help rally more party loyalists behind his White House bid. Republican sources said on Thursday that Trump had decided on Pence, but the campaign had not confirmed this until now. But he could help unify Republicans left divided by Trump's campaign to win the party presidential nomination for the Nov. 8 election. Trump had faced a midday deadline to announce Pence because the governor had to declare by then whether he would be on the ballot in his home state for re-election.
