General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt said he was disappointed, adding: "Climate change is real. The United States had committed to reduce emissions by 26 to 28 percent from 2005 levels by 2025. The United States accounts for more than 15 percent of total worldwide greenhouse gas emissions, second only to China. The US withdrawal of the Paris accord will offer an unprecedented opportunity for China... to ascend in leading global climate affairs," said Frank Yu of energy consultancy Wood Mackenzie.
