President Trump’s lawyers made bizarre legal arguments in a memo leaked over the weekend. But the memorandum by President Trump’s lawyers that the New York Times published Saturday startled even us. But — like so much else in the lawyers’ letter — that prompts the question of what the president knew and intended.
