“It’s what I actually, truly believe.” Some will argue that Trudeau needs to offer public reassurance about his feminist convictions because of the SNC-Lavalin controversy and accompanying allegations that the “fake feminist” prime minister lost his tolerance for strong women in his cabinet. “So really they are just agreeing Trudeau is a bad man.” Conservatives not liking Trudeau, to borrow an old newspaper term, is not exactly front-page news. Still, Trudeau and his Liberals were still far ahead of any other party by this measure. So why is Trudeau talking so much about feminism right now, only a few months before the election campaign? Put simply, Trudeau’s strong feminism leaves him open in this climate to charges of being anti-men.
