KUALA TERENGGANU (Bernama): Petronas has activated its Emergency Response Team as its Peninsular Malaysia assets' offshore facilities are experiencing high waves and strong winds as a result of tropical storm Pabuk. A video showing powerful winds accompanied by huge waves of tropical storm Pabuk smashing into an oil rig in Terengganu waters went viral on social media since Wednesday (Jan 2). “This is the first time such a phenomenon has occurred since I started working on the rig eight years ago... Nonetheless, he grew more optimistic as calm weather returned Thursday and wind speeds had slowed to 30 knots. “We have been ordered not to leave our living quarters by the Offshore Installation manager since Wednesday,” he said.
