Tributes have been paid to Liam Downing, from Middleton, Leeds, who battled leukaemia for almost two years. The cancer returned several times, and after being admitted to hospital on March 16, with an "infection", it was revealed just days later his cancer was terminal and he had contracted coronavirus. Liam's sister Laura said the diagnosis left her brother and the family "devastated". He kept a brave face and smiled through the pain but sadly died just days later on the afternoon of Friday, March 27.
