The incident happened just before 7am on Cathal Brugha Street in the north inner city. The victim, a man believed to be in his 20s, was taken to the Mater Hospital by ambulance with what are described as non life threatening injuries. Gardai in Store Street are investigating the incident. The road has been closed to the junction of O'Connell Street pending a forensic examination.
