Shane Claude Roberts faces one charge of murder over the 2014 death of 10-month-old Karlos Stephens. The murder trial of a man accused of the 2014 killing of a 10-month-old Rotorua toddler has been called off, two days before its scheduled finish. Trial judge Justice Matthew Muir made the ruling to abort the trial of Shane Roberts at the High Court in Rotorua on Wednesday. Roberts faces one charge, that on either November 29 or 30, 2014, he killed Karlos​ Stephens.
