Tremors in Northeast, Bengal and Bihar as 6.8-magnitude quake hits Myanmar


Tremors were felt in West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and Assam on Wednesday as an earthquake of 6.8 magnitude struck central Myanmar, the US Geological Survey said. The quake struck 143 km west of the city of Meiktila, the agency said. This is second time in two days that tremors were felt in Myanmar. The quake shook buildings in buildings in Myanmar’s biggest city of Yangon and in other towns and cities, witnesses said. The quake was also felt in Bangladesh, to the west of Myanmar, residents said.
