Travellers stranded in Kisii as fare spikes, a day to school re-opening


There were fare spikes from Kisii to various parts of the country a day to official school re-opening on Monday. Most travellers lamented staggering fare increments as they planned to send their children back to schools. Buses traveling to the Coastal region were charging Sh4, 000 from the usual Sh2500. Travellers leaving for Eldoret and Kitale said they were paying the normal rates of Sh1,000 and Sh1,300 respectively. In other buses, travellers going to Nakuru were coughing up Sh1,000.
