Travel agents say the cost of travel will rise this year

Half of Irish travel agents reported an increase in revenues last year, compared to 2024, a new survey shows, with almost all agents forecasting a rise in travel prices this year. The survey was completed by ITAA travel agent members across different sectors, including leisure travel, corporate travel and other niche sectors. Recruitment difficulties and the cost of pension auto-enrolment were also identified as emerging pressures for the travel industry. Irish Travel Agents Association chief executive Clare Dunne said its members demonstrated remarkable resilience in 2025, delivering strong results in a challenging global environment. However, ITAA travel agencies remain optimistic and focused on delivering value, expertise, trusted advice and top-class personal service to Irish travellers.”
