But instead of "challenging" people to show off their 10 year transformations, it's setting out the challenge of cleaning up our cities. Through "before and after" photos, people are showing off their hard work and the numerous bags of rubbish they picked up. Already garnering tens of thousands of participants online, #trashtag is encouraging people to get their hands dirty and make a difference. Jandals, plastic water bottles, cigarette butts, fast food wrappers, and bottle caps all make regular appearances in the #trashtag photos. Air New Zealand has also contributed to the challenge by sharing photos of their "Air New Zealand Greenteam" who collected 18,615 pieces of rubbish on Auckland's Rangitoto Island last year.
