Clyde Trapp scored a career-high 17 points, including a driving layup with 2.5 seconds remaining, as Clemson topped visiting Syracuse 71-70 Tuesday night in an Atlantic Coast Conference game. Tevin Mack scored a career-high 32 points for the Tigers, who improved to 11-9 overall and 5-5 in ACC play. The margin remained at nine with 14:19 left, but Mack scored 16 points during an 18-6 run as the Tigers pulled ahead 59-56 with 7:04 left. Syracuse wouldn’t score again, and Trapp raced downcourt to score the winning basket off a pass by Khavon Moore with 2.5 seconds left. Girard added 10 points for Syracuse, which saw two of its big men — Marek Dolezaj and Bourama Sidibe — foul out.
