Tre Roberson is signing with the NFL’s Chicago Bears. According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the former Calgary Stampeders cornerback signed the largest CFL-to-NFL signing bonus since Cam Wake signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2009. Roberson is coming off a season that saw him named to the CFL All-Star team after finishing his second year with the Stampeders with seven interceptions. He had another year on his contract with the Stamps, but the team opted to release him so that he could pursue NFL opportunities. Roberson is the third Stampeders player to sign in the NFL this season, after Reggie Begelton and DaShaun Amos both signed with the Green Bay Packers.
