Tao Poon is an interchange station for the BEM-operated Blue and Purple lines and passenger congestion between 7am and 8am has raised complaints from commuters heading to work. With more new trains also in operation by early next year, the average waiting period will be halved, he claimed. Starting on Aug 12, the first extension of the Blue Line from Hua Lamphong to Lak Song will be operational while the second extension from Tao Poon to Tha Phra will begin services in January next year.
