The incident was reported late on Thursday from Keraniganj, at the outskirts of the city, said police. Around 11:30pm, a transformer inside a shop in Najirabaad area exploded causing a fire to break out, said Sub Inspector Mohidul. Three people were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital or DMCH, where the doctors pronounced 22-year-old Babur dead. The two others, who are being treated with burns, have been identified as Mostafiz, 45 and Rafiqul, 26. DMCH police camp’s Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia told bdnews24.com that Rafiqul suffered 17 percent burns while Mostafiz two percent.
