Transcend chairman Mike Njeru raids rival Saracen over alleged copyright violation

Mike Njeru, chairman of Transcend advertising agency, raided the offices of rival Saracen Media on Wednesday. Transcend Media obtained the order after suing Saracen, Fieldstone Helms and Thomas Omanga for alleged infringement of copyright. Five police officers went to Saracen's offices in Lavington accompanied by Njeru, Transcend media Operations manager Lai Muthoka and lawyer Maingi Musyimi. Transcend is very bitter over the loss in January 2014 of a tender for Safaricom’s lucrative advertising contract to Scanad, despite Transcend having topped the technical evaluation. In February, Saracen won a contract from Safaricom to handle youth advertising, beating Transcend and other agencies.
